Quality metrics need cover the whole course of the disease and be auditable. #ClinicSpeak #MSBlog #MSResearch
“The purpose of quality metrics is to be able to measure them with an audit tool. We also need to capture quality metrics across the course of the disease; it is no use having a good diagnostic service that is not backed-up by a good MS relapse and symptomatic service. The quality measures also need to be metrics that individual services can take responsibility for. Comments please?”

How easy is it to get data on how many MSers are in your service patch? I suspect it will be even more difficult in London.

Difficult, but not impossible. I think this is something the charities could take on. Epidemiologists have well established methods for estimating disease prevalences.
