COVID Breakfast-Transmission


Yesterday in there comments there was a discussion about transmission of COVID 19 but droplets. So today on April First here is another other route of potential transmission. Ths is via a;

A stool

The ACE2 receptor used by SARS-CoV-2 virus to infect the lung also occurs in the intestine. So not only can it come out of your lungs, but out of the other end too (click). SARS-CoV-2 enters gastrointestinal epithelial cells, and the faeces of COVID-19 patients were infectious and were detectable days after the virus has disappeared from the airways (click) .

I should not need to say this, but make sure you and your kids wash their hands after going to the Loo and when they come home, if they are allowed out. As we dont’t want you to get infected.

  • Yes, I read about this before and wondered if we should each be using our own separate toilet roll, rather than a shared toilet roll, as a family or shared house?

  • Advice is to flush the toilet with the toilet seat down.
    And move toothbrushes, towels, and face cloths away from being close to the toilet, as the flush can cause poo particles to spray in the air.
